Islesboro

A small and picturesque island three miles off of the coast of Lincolnville. Visitors can access the island via the Islesboro ferry located on the side of Lincolnville beach opposite the Lobster Pound. Motor vehicles are allowed to travel over on the ferry. Visitors can enjoy art showings or musical performances regularly throughout the summer months, as well as, beautiful hiking and walking trails on the island. Dining options are limited so grab a lunch to go at the Lobster Pound beforehand.

Cellardoor Winery

A 200 year old barn is the home to this charming winery located about 4 miles away from the Lobster Pound. Visitors can enjoy complimentary wine tastings and cheese as they overlook the beautiful vineyard. Reservations are not required for parties smaller than 6.

Ducktrap Kayaking

If visitors want to explore the Lincolnville area on the water, Ducktrap Kayaking offers 25 years of experience in rentals. Customers can choose between kayak and stand up paddleboards for rental. Delivery is offered for a fee, sometimes free. Reservations are recommended.

Fernald’s Neck Preserve

The 328-acre Fernald’s Neck Preserve occupies much of a peninsula that juts out into Megunticook Lake, a beautiful body of water in Lincolnville and Camden. Established in 1969, the preserve is home to an old evergreen forest, nearly 4 miles of shoreline, The Great Bog, and about 3.5 miles of walking trails.

Camden Hills State Park

A 5,710 acre state run park with numerous hiking, walking, and biking trails. The most notable hiking trails are Mount Battie, Mount Megunticook, and Maiden’s Cliff. Mount Battie has road access to near the summit of the mountain and amazing views overlooking Camden Harbor. There is a $10 park entrance fee per car.

Camden Downtown

Downtown Camden offers many wonderful shops, art galleries, and restaurants to choose from. The Camden Opera House is a gorgeous venue with a wide array of events including theatre, film, seminars and music. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of Camden harbor and Megunticook Falls at nearby Veteran’s Memorial Park. Parking in downtown Camden can be difficult, so if no street parking spots are available, it is suggested to use the parking lots on Washington Street just past the fire station on the right and on Atlantic Avenue just past the Camden Public Library, on the left.

Barrett’s Cove Beach

Barrett’s Cove Beach is one of the best ways to enjoy Lake Megunticook; the largest lake in Knox County and also one of the beautiful in the state. A rarely crowded and beautiful spot for picnicking and swimming located just 3 miles from Camden Harbor. There is a public boat launch, 102 camping and RV sites, as well as, bathrooms and showers. Parking is free and near the beach.

Camden Harbor Boat Tours

The coastline surrounding Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay is considered some of the most beautiful in the world and there is no better way to see it then by boat. The most popular boat tours are Schooner Surprise, Camden Harbor Cruises, and Sail Camden. Reservations are recommended for boat tours.

Beech Hill Preserve

One of the official stops on the Maine Birding Trail, with more than 125 species on its checklist. The preserve features two hiking trails, both of which are open to the public and lead to the top of Beech Hill, which is the only bald hilltop in the area and offers views of Penobscot Bay, Camden Hills and Saint George Peninsula.

Samoset Resort Golf Course

Belfast Harbor Walk

A beautiful half mile walk along Belfast’s scenic harbor on the Passagassawakeag River. The walks entrances are near the ends of Pierce Street and Commercial Street in Belfast.

Belfast Downtown
